How To Setup SMTP In WordPress

WordPress uses PHP Mail (By default) for sending emails, but switching to SMTP can significantly improve email delivery. With SMTP, you get more reliable email handling and can connect third-party mailing services for better performance. To get started, install the WP Mail SMTP plugin. Head to Plugins > Add New, search for it, then install and activate.

1. Run the Setup Wizard: After activation, the wizard will automatically launch to guide you through configuration.

2. Choose Your Mailer: Select Other SMTP to use one of your email accounts hosted with us.

3. Configure SMTP Settings: Head to cPanel > Email Accounts and click Connect Devices next to the email you want to use in WordPress.

Here’s how to fill out the SMTP details:

SMTP Host: Same as your Outgoing Server in cPanel.

Encryption: Use TLS.

SMTP Port: Start with 465 (if that fails, switch to 587).

Authentication: Enable it.

SMTP Username: The email address you're using in WordPress.

SMTP Password: The password for that email.

From Name: Ideally, the name of your website.

From Email: This should match your SMTP Username.

Turn Force From Email to On.

4. Final Configuration: Continue through the wizard, and it will run a test to ensure everything is set up correctly. If you see warnings about DMARC or SPF, you can fix them in cPanel > Email Deliverability.

Once the test passes, congratulations! You've successfully configured SMTP in WordPress. As always, feel free to reach out to our support team if you run into any issues!
